It is Roberts goal to help to prevent illnesses by proving the benefits of our discoveries on natural products so the users can be sure of the products they buy.
We have worked, and still work, on many food products and their activities and it is remarkable what opportunities there are for illness prevention. Many illnesses and ageing processes are associated with aberrations in sugar biochemistry and not just glucose regulation; what is remarkable is the ability of the natural iminosugars to correct many of these aberrations.
One problem is that many modern fruit and vegetable varieties lack the iminosugars as they have been blindly bred-out in favour of shelf-life and appearance, etc. Most food supplement products based on extracts also lack the iminosugars which are lost in the processing.

IminoHoney is a unique iminosugar-containing raw honey that has special benefits to health. Honey is well known to support immunity and wellness but which type you choose makes a big difference to the benefits. With many years researching honey science we have found that bees can concentrate a rare iminosugar (Iminose A or casuarine) into honey. How IminoHoney Differs from Traditional Honey (Including Manuka)

Bacteria and fungi cannot grow well in honey due to many factors including pH and the high sugar content and so it is recognised as good for treating antibiotic resistant infections.

Our Story
We have historically been primarily interested in using natural molecules as the basis for new and improved medicines. Increasingly we have become focused on utilising our discoveries for developing products for disease prevention and maintenance of good health. IminoHoney is the result of an amazing series of serendipitous events and discoveries starting from contact with Dr Nash by Mrs Elizabeth Langford in 2002 who had been prescribed a herbal preparation in Western Samoa ‘to make her well’ after diagnosis with breast cancer. The preparation yielded a new natural iminosugar (Iminose A) that was non-toxic and at low concentrations found to boost the type 1 ‘healing’ immune response in cell cultures, animals and humans.
The iminosugar compound is extremely rare in Nature but by chance we found it occurred in
a Mediterranean plant (Myrtus communis) but only when growing in Wales or Ireland. To cut a long story short we were able to find a specific type of honey naturally rich in this molecule and now offer this in single dose sachets for improving or maintaining quality of life. We also have reports from users that it is good for energy and we are investigating this at the moment; your experiences and comments are very welcome.
Manuka honey is widely acclaimed for health benefits but when eaten there is little or no scientific evidence it has any benefit different from any other honey. Manuka claims to have activity due to high content of methylglyoxal (MGO) which is indeed highly reactive but not necessarily good for you. Our IminoHoney is low in MGO. IminoHoney is the only honey commercially available with a measured iminosugar and the bees add it not us. Manuka contains no iminosugars.

The iminosugars are present in many plants and are common in old fruit and vegetable varieties but detecting and identifying them is a specialised area with surprisingly few groups working on them.
